Write the future of AI
Your writing skills help AI communicate better. Join a flexible, paid, remote writing project now!

Fluency isn't the same as quality. AI can generate grammatically clean text that misses the point, fumbles the tone, or gets the facts wrong and it takes a trained writer to tell the difference.
Through Mindrift, you evaluate AI-generated text by judging quality, spotting errors, crafting reference-quality responses, and refining outputs until they meet the standards a professional writer would expect. Your feedback directly shapes how AI models learn to communicate.
Writing and editing projects on Mindrift pay up to $30 per hour, with rates visible before you start any task. Projects are fully remote and flexible and most contributors participate between 5 and 20 hours per week alongside other commitments.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of writing tasks will I do?
You evaluate and improve how AI models generate text, not produce content for clients. Typical tasks include rating the quality of AI-generated responses, editing outputs for grammar and clarity, comparing multiple AI-generated versions and ranking them, and crafting reference-quality text that models learn from. You might also verify factual accuracy or assess whether an AI response truly addresses the user's question. Every task helps train the next generation of language models used by millions of people worldwide.
Do I need AI or technical experience?
No. What matters more is strong writing and editing ability, including the capacity to judge text quality, catch subtle errors, and articulate why one piece of writing works better than another. If you can edit a draft, spot a logical gap in an argument, or tell the difference between natural-sounding text and AI-generated filler, you have the skills these projects require.
What writing background is expected?
Professional experience in content creation, journalism, copywriting, academic writing, technical writing, or literary editing. Contributors come from varied backgrounds but what they share is a trained eye for language quality and the discipline to follow project-specific guidelines carefully.
How much can I earn?
Writing and editing projects on Mindrift currently pay up to $30 per hour. Rates are set per task and visible before you begin. Payments are processed twice a month with no hidden fees or deductions.
How flexible is the schedule?
Completely flexible. You choose when and how much to contribute – there are no fixed hours, shifts, or minimum weekly requirements. Most contributors participate between 5 and 20 hours per week alongside other commitments. All tasks are asynchronous, so you can participate any time that suits your schedule.
How does the assessment work for writers?
After submitting your application, you complete a writing-focused assessment. This typically involves evaluating sample AI-generated text, editing passages for quality and accuracy, and sometimes producing original content. The assessment mirrors actual project tasks and usually takes 1–2 hours.
Can I do this alongside other freelance writing work?
Yes – most writing contributors on Mindrift hold other commitments, whether freelance clients, a full-time position, or academic work. This is a project-based freelance opportunity, not an employment relationship. There are no non-compete restrictions from Mindrift's side.
Is this the same as content writing or copywriting?
No. You are not writing articles, blog posts, or marketing copy for clients. You are evaluating, editing, and improving AI-generated text to teach language models to produce better output. The skills overlap, but tasks themselves are fundamentally different.
Is Mindrift legitimate?
Yes. Mindrift is owned and operated by Toloka AI, a global leader in AI data since 2014, headquartered in Amsterdam. Over 20,000 experts from around the world have contributed to Mindrift projects for leading AI companies. Payments are processed reliably twice a month.
